Other methods for establishing good learning habits are: acquire a set of encyclopedias; sing songs; tell stories; and make reading good books a special experience for your children.

Family Learning Activities

Apart from procuring children books for good learning, provide your kids with a chalkboard and chalk. Encourage their hobbies. Help them to write about important events in their lives and encourage them to write letters. Do not point out spelling errors. Take them to the library and encourage them to become members and read lots of children books for good learning.

Adapting To the Needs of Your Child

Learning is the life long process and you have to inspire good learning habits in your child from the very earliest years.

Here are some tips:

  • The First Two Years
Talk to your kids lovingly and tell them stories. Tell them the names of things. Play, go for walks, and listen to music together. Start looking at books together. Use children books for good learning, which have strong pages that children can turn and good graphics the child can enjoy.
  • Two to Four Years
Use simple language while talking to your kids. Talk about things that interest them without criticizing their mistakes. At this age, children enjoy rhymes, riddles, chants, secrets, games, tongue twisters etc.

  • Four to Six Years
Help the children to solve everyday problems themselves. Provide them with writing material and encourage them to draw, scribble and write. Encourage them to play with other children. And, of course, provide children books for good learning suitable for their age.
  • Six to Eight Years
Introduce your children to science. Give them small responsibilities and let them help you in your household work. Encourage them to develop hobbies and to explore nature.

Helping Your Kids to Learn and Develop

Develop good relationships with your children's teachers. Be sure they get enough sleep, eat well, and go to school in good spirits. Do not forget to encourage them and praise their efforts. Give them children books of good learning to read and make learning a fun and effortless experience.
